<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously perform live view display and focus detection using an imaging output of an imaging element in which imaging pixels and focus detection pixels are two-dimensionally aligned. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging sensor includes imaging pixels 310 and focus detection pixels 313 and 314 disposed adjacently in a pixel position on a two-dimensional periodic grating, and addition means 320, 505 and 507 successively selecting a plurality of adjacent pixels and adding and outputting the outputs of the selected pixels. The layout pattern of the imaging pixels 310 and the focus detection pixels 313 and 314 is matched to the selection pattern of pixels by the addition means 320, 505 and 507 so that only the outputs of the imaging pixels 310 or only the outputs of the focus detection pixels 313 and 314 are added in one adding operation by the addition means 320, 505 and 507. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
