<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight and a liquid crystal display device in which variations of illumination face brightness and variations of illumination face chromaticity of each product and variations of illumination face brightness and variations of chromaticity in the same product are suppressed, and display quality is improved. <P>SOLUTION: A first light guide plate in which the light incident into one end face is emitted from one main face, a second light guide plate that is equipped with the light incident end face and the light-emitting end face and arranged on a rear face side of the first light guide plate, a light source arranged in the vicinity of the light incident end face of the second light guide plate, a reflecting sheet arranged between the first light guide plate and the second light guide plate, a chassis to house the first light guide plate, the second light guide plate, and the reflecting sheet, and a rear cover that pinches the first light guide plate, the second light guide plate, and the reflecting sheet between the chassis are included, while the first light guide plate and the second light guide plate are positioned in the thickness direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
