<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device capable of more accurately estimating reception quality in a radio signal when estimating the reception quality of a radio signal based on a known signal, especially when using a multicarrier system, and to provide a reception quality estimating method. <P>SOLUTION: A radio base station 100 includes a frequency-domain/time-domain conversion section 160 and a time domain SNR estimation section 170. At the frequency-domain/time-domain conversion section 160, propagation path estimation information is reconverted into time domain signals that are time signals in a time domain. At the time domain SNR estimation section 170, the signal power of a radio signal is calculated based on the time domain signal included in a time zone ts in all the time zones including the reconverted time domain signals, and noise power is calculated based on the time domain signals included in the time zone tn, thus estimating the S/N ratio of a radio signal.
