PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device provided with a mounting structure of a wiring board, which is capable of preventing corrosion, disconnection, etc. of wires on the wiring board. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device being an example of electro-optical devices includes a bas layer, wires 2 formed on a surface of the base layer, an FPC which is formed on the surface of the base layer and includes a cover layer covering at least a part of wires, and a liquid crystal display panel including a mounting part. A part of the FPC positioned in the mounting part is joined to the mounting part through an anisotropic conductive adhesive, and a part of wires positioned in the mounting part is electrically connected to the electrode formed on the surface of the mounting part. In particular, the cover layer extends up to an area inside an end face of the mounting part. Therefore, the wires are not exposed to the outside in the vicinity of the end face of the mounting part, so that foreign matters, water, etc, can be prevented from being deposited on the wires. Thus corrosion and disconnection of wires due to foreign matters, water, etc. can be prevented, so that the reliability of electric connection of the FPC to the liquid crystal display panel can be improved.
