The bench (1) has a clamping plate (5) for fastening a test body e.g. vehicle. The clamping plate is drivable by a continuously controllable electric motor (7) in two spatial directions. Another clamping plate (6) is drivable in a third spatial direction. The clamping plates are provided for retaining an adapter unit for linking the test body. The electric motor moves the clamping plates in the spatial directions. A rotating motion of the electric motor is converted by an eccentric cam (9) into a linear oscillating motion of a connecting rod (12). An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting noises of a moved test body.
