The seat has a covering device with a covering plate (4), and a covering lid (5) foldably arranged to an edge (7a) adjacent to the covering plate. The covering lid and the covering plate are horizontally seated in a loading base position of the seat over a foldable down seat part (1) and a back side of a downward foldable backrest (2). The covering lid is fitted to the covering plate at a back side of the backrest in a sitting position of the seat, so that another edge shows the covering lid to a vehicle floor, where the covering lid has a handle-like opening at the latter edge.
