PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module for reducing misalignment between an optical element and a substrate having an optical waveguide. SOLUTION: This optical module is provided with a composite substrate including an optical waveguide part and a plurality of wiring parts, an optical element substrate having a plurality of optical element arrays having a plurality of light emitting parts or a plurality of photoreception parts and a plurality of connection terminals, interposed between a first line defined by connecting the centers of two of the plurality of connection terminals, and a second line parallel to the first line and defined by connecting the centers of the other two connection terminals different from the two terminals, and arranged symmetrically with respect to a symmetry axis having the same distance from the first line and the second line, and a conductive solder part for coupling optically the optical waveguide to the plurality of light emitting parts or the plurality of photoreception parts by connecting the plurality of wiring parts and the plurality of connection terminals.
