PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature-responsive chromatography carrier, the effective connection capacity to respect to protein on the carrier, the surface of which is capable of changing in the range of 500 to 80,000μg/g per carrier weight by changing the temperature. SOLUTION: An atomic migration radical polymerization initiator is fixed on the carrier surface, and isopropyl alcohol is made a solvent. From the initiator, the polymer having charges, and the hydration force of which changes in the temperature range of 0 to 80°C is made to be subjected under growth reaction, using the atomic migration radical method under polymerization catalyst.
