PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide staple fiber excellent in flowing through a fiber preparation process and in workability of a wet-type nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The polyamide staple fiber has the deposit of an anionic oil component having a 10-14C straight chain hydrocarbon group and a nonionic oil component having a 10-14C straight chain hydrocarbon group having a weight average molecular weight of 200 to 20,000, wherein the total amount of the oil components deposited to the fiber relative per weight of fiber is 0.2 to 0.8 wt.%, and the fiber length is within the range of 2 to 10 mm.
