PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nonwoven fabric from a fiber produced by removing a component removable with an aqueous solvent while suppressing longitudinal extension generated in the production of the nonwoven fabric and preventing the deterioration in texture caused by e.g. addition of a polymer. SOLUTION: The production of an ultrafine fiber nonwoven fabric containing ultrafine fibers having a fineness of 0.0001-0.5 dtex and generated from a conjugate fiber containing a component removable with the aqueous solvent is carried out by sequentially performing the following steps. (A) A step to produce a nonwoven fabric by intertwining the conjugate fiber by needle punching, (B) a step to laminate a fiber structure of ultrafine fibers having a single fiber fineness of 0.0001-0.5 dtex on at least one surface of the nonwoven fabric and intertwining and integrating by a high-speed fluid treatment, (C) a step to treat the product with an aqueous solvent to generate the ultrafine fibers and wash the fibers, and (D) a step to perform a high-speed fluid treatment.
