PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methacrylate based resin composition in which the amount of a fine scale is reduced, and a film formed by molding the resin composition. SOLUTION: It has been found that, when a monomer mixture containing a (meth)acrylic acid monomer is subjected to an emulsion polymerization, the amount of a fine scale in the methacrylate-based polymer latex formed by the emulsification-polymerization can be reduced by copolymerizing a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester having a≥9C alkyl group. Further, the amount of fish eyes in the resultant film can be reduced by molding the acrylic based resin composition comprising the methacrylate based polymer having the reduced amount of the fine scale.
