PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing carbon nanotubes and a method for producing carbon nanotubes utilizing the apparatus. SOLUTION: This apparatus is characterized in that a plurality of carbon nanotube synthesis units are arranged in series, and the synthesizing process of carbon nanotubes is proceeded successively. According to such features, the carbon nanotube production apparatus which can synthesize carbon nanotubes of uniform quality and the carbon nanotube production method utilizing this can be provided.
