METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING THE FRAME SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNAL

<p>A method for encoding the frame synchronization signal is provided. The predetermined intermediate variables corresponding to the cell or cell group ID are encoded, and the short codes corresponding to the said cell or cell group ID are acquired; then the S-SCH codes are generated according to the said short codes. The cell or cell group ID are not encoded directly, and ensuring that all first short codes in all S-SCH codes are larger or smaller than the second short codes in all S-SCH codes; the distances of the short codes are smaller. The reliability of frame synchronization is improved. An apparatus for encoding the frame synchronizationsignal is provided as well.</p>
