Disclosed is a benzyl phenyl glucopyranoside derivative having excellent inhibitory effect on human SGLT1 and/or SGLT2 activity. Specifically disclosed is a compound represented by the general formula (I) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof. (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an amino group, a hydroxy C1-C6 alkyl group, or the like; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, or the like; R3 represents a C1-C6 alkyl group, a hydroxy C1-C6 alkyl group, or the like; R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a C2-C7 acyl group, or the like; R5, R6, R7 and R8 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group, or the like (provided that all of R5, R6, R7 and R8 do not represent a hydrogen atom in a molecule); R9 represents a halogen atom; n represents a number ranging from 0 to 4; and X represents CH or N. |
