<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-scattering film that can remedy both brightness asymmetry and color change over a wide range of viewing angles with respect to a display device, a polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The light scattering film includes, on a support, a light-scattering layer formed with at least one of light-scattering particle 2; a translucent resin; and a dispersant, wherein the layer thickness R of the light-scattering layer 1 is 1.4 to 4.0 times the particle diameter d of the light-scattering particle 2. If the refractive index of the light-scattering particle 2 at the wavelengths of 435 nm and 545 nm is n<SB>P435</SB>and n<SB>P545</SB>, respectively; and the refractive index of the translucent resin at the wavelengths of 435 nm and 545 nm is n<SB>B435</SB>and n<SB>B545</SB>, respectively, The light-scattering film simultaneously satisfies the expression 1: n<SB>B435</SB>>n<SB>P435</SB>, expression 2: n<SB>B545</SB>>n<SB>P545</SB>, and expression 3: 0.9<(n<SB>P435</SB>/n<SB>B435</SB>)/(n<SB>P545</SB>/n<SB>B545</SB>)<1.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
