FLAME-RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION, ELECTRIC WIRE COATING MATERIAL CONTAINING THE SAME AND ELECTRIC WIRE COATED THEREWITH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which has a low specific gravity, is excellent in abrasion resistance and in molding processability and is low in gas acidity, and to provide an electric wire coating material containing it and an electric wire coated with it.

SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition comprises a high density polyethylene and red phosphorus and has a specific gravity of ≤1.05 g/cm3, wherein the high density polyethylene has a density of ≥0.950 g/cm3and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of ≥15, and red phosphorus is contained in 2-5 wt.%. An electric wire using the flame-retardant resin composition as a coating material is also provided.
