PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery having high reliability against impact such as drop. SOLUTION: In the sealed battery in which a battery element 3 formed by laminating a positive electrode and a negative electrode through a separator and winding them is housed from an opening of a battery can 2 and the opening is sealed, insulating supporting plates 11a, 11b between which the battery element 3 having electrode tabs 8, 9 taken out are interposed from the both sides are arranged. The insulating supporting plates 11a, 11b cover the side parts of the battery element 3 and hold the upper part of the battery element 3, and are placed to fill between the battery element 3 and the inner surface of the battery can 2.
