PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system for a vehicle capable of maintaining a state that allows a vehicle to run even when overwriting a program of an electronic controller fails. SOLUTION: The electronic controller is mounted with an overwrite firmware for overwriting programs in a non-overwrite area of a non-volatile memory, a communication function, and a function to acquire information required by another electronic control unit for the vehicle to run, and has a determination area for determining whether a control program and a current program written to an overwriting area of a non-volatile memory is normal or abnormal. In the system, it is determined that an application is abnormal after a program overwrite fails and the function to acquire information required by another electronic control unit is executed, and is provided by the communication function.
