PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microdevice capable of rapidly mixing reaction fluids and suppressing the inclusion of bubbles in fluid by reducing the dead space of a discharge flow channel immediately after a confluent part, and a fluid mixing method. SOLUTION: The microdevice 10 allows fluids to flow through independent introducing flow channels 12a and 12b to join and mix with each other in the confluent part 18 of a microspace, and the fluid mixture is discharged from the confluent part 18 through the discharge flow channel 14. The leading end parts of the introducing flow channels 12a and 12b are equipped with contraction parts 16a and 16b, to which tapers are formed, so as to contract the flow of a liquid and the respective introducing flow channels 12a and 12b are arranged so that the center axes of the introducing flow channels 12a and 12b do not cross each other at one point. The confluent part 18 is formed by the space mutually surrounded by the leading openings 15a and 15b of the contraction parts of the respective introducing flow channels 12a and 12b.
