[Also in Division E2] A fastener for securing a first element such as a beading 2 against one face of an apertured second element such as a panel 3 of an automotive vehicle, comprises a stud 1 having a head portion and an integral shank portion, said head portion being engageable with said first element and said shank portion being intended for projection through the aperture of said second element, and a clip 6 having a central orifice 7 adapted for gripping engagement over the end of said shank portion, when projecting as aforesaid, with the interposition of a sealing gasket so that said first element is thereby clamped against said second element, said clip having a dished configuration with an outer peripheral portion 9 turned over to provide the clip with a substantially U-shaped cross-section annular wall having a height sufficient to prevent said stud shank portion from projecting beyond the outer peripheral portion of the clip in operation of the fastener. As shown the orifice is substantially cross-shaped in plan and dimensioned so that edges of said orifice are adapted to engage said stud shank portion grippingly to retain said stud shank portion in the clip orifice. |
