What is described is a paste-like PMMA bone cement that is characterised in that a paste-like component A, which is made up of one or more methacrylate monomers that can be distilled and polymerised by radical polymerisation, at least one polymer that is soluble in the methacrylate monomer/methacrylate monomers, at least one particulate polymer that is insoluble in the methacrylate monomer/methacrylate monomers and has a particle size of less than 500 mum, and at least one radical initiator, and a paste-like component B, which is made up of one or more methacrylate monomers that can be distilled and polymerised by radical polymerisation, at least one polymer that is soluble in the methacrylate monomer/methacrylate monomers, at least one particulate polymer that is insoluble in the methacrylate monomer/methacrylate monomers and has a particle size of less than 500 mum, and at least one accelerator, is present and in that a tack-free paste that cures by itself is generated upon mixing the paste-like components A and B.
