The method involves generating three dimensional (3D)-geometry units (6) for multiple parts of a guiding system. A coding (3), which is provided for an allocation of the respective parts to vehicle models, is stored in a data memory. All the associated 3D-geometry units is determined and arranged based on the associated coding for the specific vehicle model. A digital prototype of the guiding system for the specific vehicle model is generated from the arranged geometry units. The geometry units have a coded interface (9) to the directly adjacent geometry units in the guiding system.
