<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device capable of surely preventing toner scattering in a developer feed opening, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the development device. <P>SOLUTION: The development device 4 performs: forming a hermetically sealed space α hermetically sealing air in the neighborhood of a toner feed opening 95 being the developer feed opening of a stirring carrying passage 11 by a stirring screw 6, a stirring developer 93 and a stirring carrying inner wall 11f being an inner face of a casing forming the stirring carrying passage 93; moving the hermetically sealed space α in the downstream side of a carrying direction of the stirring screw 6 by accompanying carrying of the developer due to the stirring screw 6; and discharging air moving to the downstream side of a carrying direction of the stirring screw 6 by being hermetically sealed by the hermetically sealed space α from the stirring carrying passage 11 to the feed carrying passage 12 through a fall opening 92 as a discharge opening in the downstream side of a carrying direction to the toner feed opening 95. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
