<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GUI having high operability. <P>SOLUTION: A GUI remote control device 50 is displayed on a screen of a display device, and a button (object showing a button in fact) 51 is used for turning ON or OFF the power source of an HDD recorder. The button 52 is used for reproducing recorded content, and a button 53 is used for stopping the reproduction of the content. The functions and applications of buttons A to D in a region 55 are not preliminarily determined, and the functions and applications of the buttons A to D can be defined by a user.
