PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester having a low formaldehyde content. SOLUTION: The polyester contains a titanium element of 3×10<SP>-5</SP>to 30×10<SP>-5</SP>mole with respect to 1 mole of a dicarboxylic acid component constituting the polyester, in which the amount of a dialkyleneglycol copolymer is not more than 1.3 wt.% with respect to the weight of the polyester.
