1,195,117. Cellulose nitrate composition. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 23 Nov., 1967, No. 25123/69. Divided out of 1,195,116. Heading C3F. A composition comprises, by weight, (a) 0À5-10% of substantially spherical organic polymeric beads having an average diameter of 0À5-25 microns and being insoluble in organic solvents and in a 30: 70 (by wt.) mixture of acetone: water; (b) 0À3-8% of cellulose nitrate having an I.V. at 25‹ C. in acetone of 0.4 to 1.5; (c) 0À3-8% of finely-divided carbon black and (d) the balance being an organic solvent system containing not more than 5% by wt. of water and not more than 10% by wt. of halogenated organic solvent, the solvents in the system boiling below 250‹ F. Specified polymers are polyethylene, polypropylene, polymethacrylate and P.T.F.E. The solvent is preferably an alcohol: ketone mixture, e.g. methanol: acetone. The composition may be used to coat films in photographic film packs.
