The invention relates to a mist cyclone, in particular, for air humidification, comprising a cyclone chamber, to which air is supplied by means of a fan (6), having a casing (1), provided with an air inlet, a base (7) and a lid (5) with a central outlet opening, the base (7) of the cyclone chamber being provided with an ultrasound mist generator (3) and which generates an airflow (9) moving along the casing (1) in a circumferential direction with the air introduced via the air inlet, said airflow enclosing the mist rising from the ultrasound mist generator (3) and generating a mist vortex (10) in the centre of the cyclone chamber directed at the outlet opening in the lid (5). According to the invention, such a mist cyclone may be made more attractive for application, for example, in inhabited rooms, wherein the casing (1) of the cyclone chamber is transparent, the air inlet in the casing (1) is of such a design that the inlet air into the cyclone chamber is evenly distributed over the axial length of the casing (1) and the cyclone chamber has illumination means (12) which illuminate the mist vortex (10) inside the cyclone chamber. |
