Method for manufacturing a palletless packaging unit

The method involves moving a part of a partially enclosed goods item downwardly. Foils (14, 20) are designed as blown-film hoods whose circumference is smaller than a circumference of another goods item (2). The circumference of the hoods is extended from the circumference of the item (2) to a circumference greater than the circumference of the item (2). The circumference of the hoods is applied to the item (2) by an elastic circumferential stress. The foil (20) is applied to a height of a contact area (10) during covering of a reef finger by driving a reef roller attached to the reef finger. An independent claim is also included for a palletless packaging unit comprising multiple packing items.
