A computer apparatus has a master module and a slave module. The master module sends a functional request to the slave module and the slave module executes the requested function. The master module uses dynamic voltage scaling (DVS). The DVS control for the master module is linked to the slave module. The master module may send a DVS control message with the functional request. The DVS control may also adjust the clock frequency of the master module and send the frequency information with the functional request. The DVS control information in the master module may be mapped to a generic speed request to send to the slave module. The generic request may then be mapped to an operating frequency, voltage, speed or priority in the slave module. |
