A gas barrier film and the display device using the same are provided to suppress the infiltration of the moisture or the gas on the base film and to reduce the deterioration of the display device. The gas barrier layer(2) having at least one inorganic region and organic region is formed on one side of the base film(1). The layer made of resin having the barrier capacity is formed on the other side of the base film. The layer of resin is made of the polyvinyl alcohol. The resin of the layer having barrier capacity is made of acrylate. The main component of the organic layer is identical to the layer of the resin having barrier capacity.
