Start-up of a steam turbine

The method involves measuring a fresh steam pressure (PF) upstream of a control valve (CV), and opening a control valve to an opening position. The valve is arranged in a fresh steam line (FSL) between a boiler (B) and a steam turbine (ST). The control of the opening position of the valve is switched depending on a rotation speed of the steam turbine, when the rotation speed is approximated to be a synchronous speed upto a predetermined difference value. The opening position of the valve is controlled such that the steam turbine rotates with the synchronous speed. An independent claim is also included for a control unit of a thermal power coupling system.
