摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a membrane electrode assembly of which catalytic activity is raised, the degradation of catalytic activity during operation is suppressed, and the performance degradation caused by structural factor of the membrane electrode assembly is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly includes at least: a step in which a catalyst electrode is applied with a voltage in a conductive water solution to maintain a hydrogen generation potential; a step of cleaning and removing the conductive water solution; a step in which the catalyst electrode is dried in the atmosphere whose oxygen partial pressure is lower than the air after the cleaning and removing step, and a step in which at least part of the catalyst active material contained in the catalyst electrode is covered with an ion conducting material in the step for stacking at least an anode, proton conducting film 3, and cathode, after the drying step or before the stacking step. The anode/cathode is a coated catalyst electrode having such structure as the catalyst active material whose main components is Pt/Ru, having been subjected to the potential keeping process, cleaning and removing process, and drying process, is carried/deposited by a porous conductive carrier, and at least a part of which is covered with the ion conductive material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
