<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for performing change operation, such as deletion, addition, substitution and emphasis of written characters, on a computer with the same operating feeling as a usual writing act using common paper and a common pen as much as possible in a writing means with a tablet and an electronic pen. <P>SOLUTION: Signs such as a double line and blot-out which mean deletion, an angular or trough-shaped symbol and an arrow mark which mean addition, and an enclosure and an underline which mean emphasis, all being used by a writing person in the usual writing act, are associated with control commands for starting change processing and specifying the characters to be changed, and these commands are automatically detected from writing information to automatically carry out the processing. In detecting the characters to be changed at that time, character extraction information generated in a character recognition method is utilized. When control signs such as the double line and enclosure are written, the overlap degree of the character extraction information and the control signs is obtained and utilized for determination of the characters to be changed, thereby achieving high accuracy detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
