PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of correcting the shake of a subject without requiring as much time as possible to detect a shake amount of the subject even when the subject itself shakes. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus (video camera 1) includes an apparatus main body 2, an imaging mechanism part 50 provided in the device main body 2, a remote controller 15 which can operate the imaging mechanism part 50 remotely so as to photograph the subject 100 and also includes a gyroscope sensor 152 for detecting a shake amount, and a shake correcting part 60 provided in the device main body 2 and configured so as to correct the shake of the subject 100 on the basis of a detection result of the shake amount by the gyroscope sensor 152 of the remote controller 15 that shakes in accordance with the shake of the subject 100 when the subject 100 carries the remote controller 15.
