PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding type electronic component capable of improving a direct current superimposition characteristic, and of improving mechanical strength. SOLUTION: This winding type electronic component 10 comprises: a core 13 having a cross-sectionally-rectangular winding core part 11, and a pair of flange parts 12 located at both its ends and each formed into a rectangular shape; a winding 14 wound around the winding core part 11; and an armoring resin part 15 sealing the winding between the pair of flange parts 12, 12. The armoring resin part 15 comprises: nonmagnetic resin parts 15RA covering corner parts 14A of the winding 14 located on extension lines drawn from the axis of the core 13 to intersection parts between four corner parts 11A of the winding core part 11 and the flange part 12, and not containing magnetic particles; and magnetic resin parts 15b covering the winding 14 excluding the corner parts 14A of the winding 14 covered with the nonmagnetic resin part 15A and containing magnetic particles.
