PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving object tracking device for accurately tracking moving objects close to each other in an image. SOLUTION: The moving object tracking device tracks the same moving object using a template, and comprises a template generating means for generating a template for each of a plurality of moving objects from an input image, a storage part for storing the moving objects and the templates in association with each other, and a tracking part for finding a tracking evaluation value representing a degree of similarity between the template stored in the storage part and an input image, and determining the position of the template at a position having the largest evaluation value. The tracking part has a correction means for multiplying the tracking evaluation value by the weight that is reduced as the distance between the templates becomes smaller when the distance is smaller than a certain value, and correcting the position of the template to the position having the largest multiplied tracking evaluation value.
