PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which is simply structured and is capable of surely removing dust stuck to a secondary filter of a dust collecting part and simplifying the operation of removing the dust accumulated in the dust collecting part without making hands and clothes get dirty. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner body 1 having: a main body part 2 having a dust collecting part housing chamber 22 where the dust collecting part 30 is detachably housed and a motor-driven blower chamber 23 where a motor-driven blower 24 is installed, and provided with a hose connecting port 11; and an upper lid 5 for opening and closing the upper surface opening of the main body part 2. A secondary filter 50 is disposed in a secondary filter chamber 40 provided on the downstream side of the dust collecting chamber 36 of the dust collecting part 30, a secondary filter driving means 60 for driving the secondary filter 50 is provided on the downstream side of the secondary filter 50, and the driving force of the secondary filter driving means 60 is transmitted to the secondary filter 50 in a state of closing the upper lid 5.
