The method involves providing a single-layer tubular body (2) made of a hardenable steel material and hardening the tubular body. The tubular body is cut in lengths and a coupling shoulder (4) is welded to the tubular body to form a ring holder (12). The ring holder is formed at an inner side (11) of a tube end (3) provided within area of a welding influence zone. A wear component is fixed in the ring holder and in the coupling shoulder. The wear component is formed by a wear ring and by an impact wear liner, where the wear ring is mounted in the ring holder.
