<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a method that does not rely only on the elapse of time as a trigger to perform user authentication for an information display device having a storage type display element. <P>SOLUTION: The information display device has: an operator which outputs operation signals matching user operations; a storage type display element for displaying information that is changed according to the operation signals, and capable of maintaining display for a retention time even without the supply of power; a history storage means for storing an operation history shown by the operation signals; an illegal user detecting means for detecting an illegal user if the operation history meets predetermined requirements; a power control means for controlling the supply of power; an authentication requesting means which does not require the input of information necessary for user authentication if a state wherein power is not supplied transitions into a state wherein power is supplied, and which requests the user to input the information necessary for user authentication if an illegal user is detected; and an authentication means for performing a user authentication process using the information inputted in accordance with the request from the authentication requesting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
