<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety controller capable of arbitrarily supporting input devices of both types owing to a degree of freedom in terminal layout on a terminal block on the maker side and a space on the terminal block on the user side without involving any constraint on the degree of freedom in terminal layout on the terminal block on the maker side and without wasting the space on the terminal block on the user side. <P>SOLUTION: User program processing by an MPU contains input device diagnostic processing which starts under the condition of that the block is decrypted as a function block for diagnosing an input device and diagnoses the normality or abnormality of the input device on the basis of the presence or absence of test pulse return within a fixed evaluation period at every period in a device signal input from a device signal input terminal specified by the function block while outputting a test signal including periodical test pulses from a test terminal specified by the function block. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
