<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device in which the vibration caused when a center shaft is engaged with or disengaged from an outer ring is suppressed utilizing a magnetic fluid. <P>SOLUTION: In this power transmission device, rollers 5 selectively held between a center shaft 2 and an outer ring 1 disposed concentrically to the center shaft 2 are disposed between the center shaft 2 and the outer ring 1. The rollers 5 are held by a retainer 3 moving the rollers 5 between the position where they are held between the center shaft 2 and the outer ring 1 and the position where they are not held therebetween and rotatable relative to the center shaft 2. The rollers 5 are so installed on the retainer 3 that the rollers 5 can be relatively rotated in the rotating directions of the center shaft 2 and the outer ring 1. The magnetic fluid 8 to which magnetism is applied and which increases the resistance force against the relative motion is interposed in the power transmission device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
