PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an echo in a communication network in operation. SOLUTION: Echo detection and monitoring systems and methods are provided. Outgoing and incoming voice transfer channels of voice communication are monitored. Outgoing and incoming signals are time-aligned, and measures are then taken to determine whether or not an echo is present in the signal.
