PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device capable of improving accuracy for determining an ignition timing for improving ignition timing control accuracy of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This control device for determining the ignition timing of the internal combustion engine detects cylinder pressure by the predetermined time cycle and calculates the cylinder pressure for each predetermined crank angle based on the detected pressure (65); and estimates motoring pressure while combustion is not executed (70), and detects that a pressure difference PCOMB between the cylinder pressure obtained by calculation and the motoring pressure exceeds a determination value DP (78). A point (CA(x)) in which the pressure difference exceeds the determination value (DP) is specified with resolution finer than the prescribed crank angles by interpolation calculation (Fig.6), using a first crank angle (CA(i)) at detection and a pressure difference (PCOMB(i)) corresponding to the first crank angle (CA(i)), and a second crank angle (CA(i-1)) before the prescribed crank angle to the first crank angle and a pressure difference (PCOMB(i-1)) corresponding to the second crank angle, thus determining the specified point as an ignition timing.
