PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system which includes a single electronic endoscope and a plurality of processors and enables an operator to carry out operation of the plurality of processors easily and reliably while ensuring the smooth operation of the electronic endoscope itself. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system includes the single electronic endoscope and at least first and second processors. The electronic endoscope includes operational means for outputting instruction signals with respect to the operation of each of the processors and specifying signals for specifying the processor subject to the operation. At least the operational means is connected only to the first processor. The first processor carries out at least either processing of the internal part of the first processor according to the instruction signal or transfer processing of the instruction signal to the second processor based on the specifying signal output from the operational means, and the second processor carries out the processing of the internal part of the second processor according to the instruction signal transferred from the first processor.
