The first logic may request that data be transmitted using a Direct Data Placement (DDP) compatible network protocol unit. The first logic may provide the data as well as other information relevant to forming the DDP compatible network protocol unit. The second logic may form portions of the DDP compatible network protocol unit using the data and the provided information.
