PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card-shaped medium processing device and a method for reading magnetic information that acquires overall magnetic information by efficiently complementing the magnetic information even when an error occurs in reading the magnetic information.

SOLUTION: From a card-shaped medium T with linearly arranged magnetic information recorded thereon the magnetic information are read in a first direction W1 and in a second direction W2. First partial information MD1s arranged downstream of a predetermined position P in the first direction W1 among the magnetic information MD1 read in the first direction W1 is coupled with second partial information MD2s arranged downstream of a predetermined position P in the second direction W2 among the magnetic information MD2 read in the second direction W2, so as to obtain overall information MDA.
