PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that uses various imaging devices without requiring circuits or software for generating timing signals. SOLUTION: The image processing device comprises a partial image storage means for reading and sequentially storing partial image data, and an image composition means for combining the partial image data from the partial image storage means to generate composite image data. The partial image storage means stores the partial image data read and generates a storage completion signal on completion of storage only when no composition incompletion signal exists. When the storage completion signal exists, the image composition means generates the composition incompletion signal if the composite image data is being generated, or otherwise, reads at least one of the partial image data from the partial image storage means and starts to generate the composite image data therewith.
