PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optimizing press forming conditions by which the optimum value of design variables in a press step is surely obtained by utilizing computer simulation. SOLUTION: A stage (S4) for obtaining the proper value of bead force when press forming by the computer simulation and a stage (S5) for obtaining the proper value of a blank size by computer simulation are separately performed and, by respectively taking the obtained proper value of bead force and the proper value of a blank size as an initial value and changing the bead force and the blank size from these initial values by the computer simulation, the optimum values of the bead force and the blank size are obtained.
