An audio signal processing system is provided to implement 5.1 channel stereophony with low operation by extracting an audio signal at each channel and performing the audio positioning. A front channel extracting and processing unit(201) extracts and localizes the audio signal of front left/right channel from two channel stereo audio signal. A central channel extraction and processing unit(203) extracts and localizes the audio signal of the central channel from two channel stereo audio signal. A surround channel extraction and processing unit(205) extracts and localizes the audio signal of the surround left/right channel from two channel stereo audio signal. A bass channel extraction and processing unit(207) extracts and localizes the audio signal of the bass channel from two channel stereo audio signal. A down mixing unit(209) outputs the extracted audio signal of each channel as two-channel stereo audio signal. |
