A cathode catalyst for a fuel cell is provided to ensure excellent activity compared with a Pt catalyst by containing the alloy of metal element and palladium with the increased activity to oxidizer reduction reaction. A cathode catalyst for a fuel cell comprises PdM, wherein M is a metal element selected from the group consisting of Mn, Fe, Co, Cu and their combination. The average interatomic distance between Pds is 2.72-2.73 Å. The average interatomic distance between Pd and M is 2.63-2.67 Å. The average interatomic distance between Ms is 2.63-2.67 Å.
